Building and construction



Within the voivodeship there’s a network of sub-contractors and suppliers of building substances, in particular the manufacturers that are gathered together in the Świętokrzyskie building cluster that provides a favourable environment for the development of enterprise in the building and construction sector. The rich reserves of mineral deposits, availability of trained and experienced workers, appropriate policies and direction regarding technical and vocational training, professional assistance from the local authorities and opportunities for take over’s from, or joint venture with international building contractors; are factors which will ensure success for future investors.


Metallurgy



The Świętokrzyskie Voivodship with its great tradition in the field of the metallurgy, is a very attractive region for investors. The access to a young, well qualified workforce, relatively low labour costs, well prepared sites for industrial investments on Greenfield and Brownfield plots, a wide selection of partners and sub-contractors recorded in the Development Strategy for the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship, as well as the Regional Strategy for Innovation
in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship, indicates that the metallurgy has great prospects within the region.





Rest and recuperation health services



The Świętokrzyskie Voivodship is a region with special qualities regarding the natural environment and climate. The legally protected areas form 66% of the voivodeship’s total surface area. The numerous national and nature parks, large wooded areas, attractive reservoirs, healthy state of the natural environment and extensive supplies of mineral water, are a testimony of the region’s exceptional qualities. The close proximity of other large urban
agglomerations and various well established sanatoria with wide ranges of medical facilities with well trained staff means that together with the aforementioned services, there are very attractive and reasonably priced offers for a specific clientele, together with the potential for tourism in the spectrum of alternative tourism.

 

 

 

 

Food sector

 

Agro-food sector in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is developing mainly owing to rich agricultural tradition and resources reserves in the region. The region plays a significant role in agricultural plants and livestock production in Poland. The most important categories of food produce in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship are:

  • Meat processing and meat production
  • Dairy products output
  • Processing and preservation of fruit and vegetables

Vegetables are one of the areas of specialization in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. In 2012, ground vegetables harvest in the region (277 thousand tonnes) was one of the highest in Poland and second largest in Eastern Poland (right after the Lublin Voivodeship – 538 thousand tonnes). The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship played a key role in harvesting such produce as the carrot, beetroot, cucumber and tomatoes. The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship has even higher position in harvesting vegetables grown in greenhouses. In 2012, harvest in the region was 104.1 thousand tonnes (the largest in the Macroregion) which accounted for 11.9% of the whole country’s value and placed the Voivodeship third in Poland.

Another area of specialization in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is fruit cultivation. The farming area of fruit trees in the region exceeds 36.9 thousand ha (12.6% of the total in Poland) which places it second in the country (following the Mazowieckie Voivodeship – 103 thousand ha). The Świętokrzyskie and Lublin Voivodeships are definite leaders in the Macroregion together having 80% of farming areas in Eastern Poland. The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship plays a significant role in the country with regard to growing such fruit trees as apple, pear, plum, sour cherry and sweet cherry trees (having from 7 to over 10 percent of their area in Poland).

Additionally, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is abundant in farming areas of fruit bushes. In 2012, the region was among top players in the country as regards farming areas of the strawberry (3.7 thousand ha, second in Poland) or blackcurrant (2.4 thousand ha, fifth position).

In one of key areas, milk production, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship was tenth in the country in 2012 (313.5 mln l yearly).

Also, a significant growth of the number of organic farming holdings was recorded in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
